Polar Coldrooms has spent several days this month on a bespoke freezer room project at a luxury clifftop hotel, on the beautiful Cornish coastline. The new cold room is located in the busy kitchen of the hotel’s restaurant.

Phase one of works included decommissioning the existing freezer room and remote refrigeration system, dismantling the freezer room and carefully removing all panels manually from the kitchen, through the hotel to a skip, to be disposed of safely. After decommissioning, our team found the existing floor full of water and ice which made it incredibly heavy and time consuming to dismantle and carry through the premises. The floor was in a very poor condition and had deteriorated badly, so repair and re-levelling work had to be arranged and completed before cold storage work could recommence.
